Nytric Limited Represented by Anthony Gussin, Director, Business Development

When innovation is your core business, leveraging a diversity of backgrounds and experience can help drive your business success.

Nytric Ltd., a venture technology and innovation consultancy, has a small, but effective workforce. Two-thirds of the Nytric team are comprised of skilled immigrants, including its management. Many of its staff are multi-lingual, enabling the company to cultivate and manage effective vendor and customer relationships across the globe.

Even as a small firm of about 25 staff, the company generates $4 million in revenues annually and exports 90 per cent of its products as a result of its ability to generate international business opportunities, right from its Mississauga office.

"Innovation only happens when diverse thinkers are brought to the table," says Anthony Gussin, Director of Business Development at Nytric. "One of our products, a cutting-edge parking device, is the epitome of cooperation. It was developed by staff from India, Australia and Poland, marketed by our Israeli agency, and sold to customers in Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom and beyond."

Nytric hiring practices are based on measuring skills and team compatibility in a multi-format interview and competency-based recruitment process. Not surprisingly, the phrase "Canadian work experience" does not appear on its job descriptions.

Nytric was recognized with a TRIEC Immigrant Success Award in 2008 and continues to work with TRIEC to build awareness of the benefits of integrating skilled immigrant talent and highlight the link between diversity and innovation.
