American Express Canada operates as Amex Bank of Canada and Amex Canada Inc. Amex Bank of Canada is the issuer in Canada of American Express charge and credit cards and provides other consumer financial services and products. Amex Canada Inc provides travel and advisory services to business travellers and companies in Canada.

Karen E. Rubin joined American Express Canada in June 2003, after extensive experience with a major financial institution and in private practice. The overall mandate for the Vice President, Senior Counsel & Corporate Secretary is to effectively manage legal resources for American Express in Canada and assist all business leaders in achieving their objectives in compliance with the law and acceptable risks. The businesses of American Express Canada include consumer and corporate cards, merchant services and business travel services. Karen provides counsel on product development, strategic alliances, governance, outsourcing and regulatory matters and manages litigation, including class actions. Karen is a member of the Canadian Executive Team and is also the Co-Chair of the Canada Diversity Council.
